I completely agree sitdown. Giving the game to a person who's biased for the Ps3 is just as bad and could possibly "fluff" the review. The point is to be "objective" here. I didn't see any of the 1up previews pieces of previews as bad. Seeing only small things being said bad about it is a GOOD THING. Something that's purely preference like how the enemies look is something very small and easily overlooked.

It's like Thom said. The gaming media at large still doesn't want to admit "We were wrong about Killzone 2". If it's not the graphics then it's being skeptical of gameplay. I've been reading that the gameplay is solid so now it's down to the small things. Since it controls uniquely some people are harping on that. But like i said had it have controls like CoD4 it would be deemed a CoD4 clone with better graphics and a sci-fi twist.

The combo system in previous DMC's are better than GoW. But everything else GoW does better. Story, characters, that certain for lack of a better word "Epic" journey and it captivates more (in my opinion). DMC is still a hell of a series. Love the deep combo system. But everything else GoW does better.

Hopefully it'll have some subtle cues on the story for GoW3 and that it'll DEFINITELY be a continuation of 2.
Recent rumors points to a environmental artist for the first two games taking over the lead directing role for GoW3. I hear they are definitely keeping it in house with people who worked on the previous titles.

I'm not offended or anything like that by these preview bits from 1up. Most of the stuff people harp on really comes down to small scale things. "I don't like the eyes" or "Not used to the controls". If it had felt like CoD4 it would have been heralded as Sci-fi CoD4 clone with amazing graphics.
Highly questionable and debatable list. Specially them putting GTA4 on there after writing a article about why GTA4 is stale after 2 weeks when they gave the game a 10. San Andreas was much more addictive. Sure they have some token games on there but for my money Super Mario World was THE most addictive Mario game. Also no Galaga?
It's possible to beat the game in 5 hours. But you don't want to go through the strain of doing that. Specially on the higher difficulties to get something like Foxhound or Big Boss Rank. It took me somewhere near 100 deaths for the *SPOILER AHEAD* bike chase in act 3. I spent hours on top of hours trying to beat that one part. Countless exiting and loading from the last section i just passed only to have that f@g on the van hit me once and take away near half my health in one shot...

Actually i don't quite agree with you. The titans i'm pretty sure believes that by going back in time and changing fate they're doing something totally insane. Not just insane but altering the course of history. They're willing to do it though for revenge. I think ultimately Kratos will want to break the chains of fate. Not just in the respect of "bringing down the gods". But also you have to remember his linage of family the fathers are used to being afraid of their offsprings and ...
Didn't watch the footage. I'm taking the "MGS4" route with Killzone 2. IE watch maybe the open level about a million times but don't go out of my way to hunt down footage of other levels. I want to keep that "fresh" feeling when popping in the game and playing it for the first time.
Hopefully not. If the game ending is masterful done like i'm hoping it is then there's no reason to continue the franchise. I know i'm in the very small group of people who want it to come to full closure. I love the GoW games my favorite series of games of all time. But if they can hammer out number 3 and have it go out with a huge bang then i have no qualms with letting the series (and Kratos) have a well deserved rest.

Only fanboys of the highest (extremist) caliber called Haze a "Halo killer". That game looked horrible to me from day one. Nectar. Seriously. Too Human i expected more from people who created the great Legacy of Kain games. One of my favorite franchises of all time.
So selling 1 million copies in a months time is considered a flop? Really? Specially when the game is a new franchise. Let's put things into proper perspective here. NG2 didn't light up the sales charts or get a "aaa title" average meta score. But you know what that game is nowhere near a "flop" or a "dud" or whatever you want to call it. It's a damned good game in my eyes.
I agree with the DMC4 thing. It left a horribly bad taste in my mouth. In fact it's safe to say i'm done with the series. Capcom took a hit in my eyes with that rehash of a game. Charging people for a more casual-friendly DMC3 with a HD Paint job was highway robbery. I paid for the limited Edition too. Worst thing i brought in years. YEARS. Ugh. Thanks for reminding me of how terrible DMC4 was.
Hahahaha it wasn't that big of a rant don't worry about it. Some people just don't "get" that you can have a differing opinion from them. I got the same rep for calling out Haze and (now) Wardevil. Which is looking like vaporware and a uninteresting and crappy game at that. From what i saw at least.

Oy it's hard to choose between that and Too Human.
It's more like branching story. Reprecussions and things of the like. Actions which you make in the context of the game determines the next line of things that can possibly unfold. Sounds extremely interesting to me. This is the type of game i've been waiting for. Story, emotion, characters. Just hope the execution on the other gameplay is solid enough.
